About Tom

My life changed and path of self-awareness came abruptly came to be in my early 20’s when I was searching for my own purpose in life and coming up with no answers.  It all changed when I took a phone call one night as a telemarketer with a woman in downtown Chicago, I was in Kansas City, that changed the course of my life forever.

I wasn’t aware at the time that I was living very unconsciously. My life was robotic life little to no thought behind actions. After many synchronistic life moments, I began working with a Life Coach.  In a guided visualization meditation I was able to witness a glimpse of my deeper purpose in this lifetime.  Looking back I can honestly say that in a single moment I woke up and began living life for the first time.

Shortly after, in 2006, I moved to Chicago from my hometown of Kansas City, Kansas to pursue my vision of supporting others in living their dreams from the heart and raising the standard of human potential.  In 2008, I became a Certified Empowerment Life Coach at the Empowerment Institute in Rhinebeck, New York, which was facilitated by husband and wife, David Gershon and Gail Straub.

It was also in 2008 that I found my path of working with elders and the death and dying chapter of life.  Being with elders has given me great wisdom from their stories, patience to enjoy the moment, and an open heart to the struggles that come with aging and coming to terms with the realities that the body can and can’t do as you age.

I then took my first of many trip’s aboard in March of 2008 to Japan and China, where I met my now wife, Cher, and the mother of my two children.  Traveling internationally opened my mind to infinite possibilities.  It helped me see so many different ways to live life and challenged my entire belief system in every way imaginable.

I’ve now travelled for the purpose of my vision to China multiple times, Thailand, Hong Kong, Democratic Republic of Congo in Central Africa, Rwanda, UK, Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, and Puerto Rico. When I travel to foreign countries I stay with the locals, eat with the locals, and immerse myself in the way of their culture, hoping to build a family-like bond with people from all over the planet for many years to come.

In 2014, I graduated from a three year mentor program facilitated by Russell Delman at The Embodied Life School in Northern, California.  In this three year program I studied Meditation, Focusing (by Eugene Gendlin), Feldenkrais Movement, and Non-Violent Communication skills. It was this program that gave me the deepest growth thus far in my personal journey of becoming more mindful in my everyday living.

Today, I serve as the Program Coordinator at The Embodied Life School. In May 2016, I completed my Certification in Mindful Yin Yoga. I am Co-Host of The Conscious Father Show with Alex Hurd.

Presently, I am the host of a two-year Certification training in Biodynamic CranioSacral Therapy in Chicago through Body Intelligence school. www.bodyintelligence.com.
